The company of Sbandieratori "Casa Normanna" (Norman House) was established in 1971 when the festivities in honor of St. Anastasia. their consists of flag-waving, drums, trumpets and banners, wearing period costumes (1400) with yellow-green colours, and is inspired by the Normans knightsi, that waving their flags, announcing to the people of Sicily, the expulsion of the Saracens.
The Flag-Wavers in Sicily revived the ancient art of flag and color to brighten up and the most important ceremonies and cultural events, including across national borders, today, is part of The Flag-Wavers Federation. (Italian Federation Sbandieratori - Ancient Games and Sports of the Flag) and athletic competitions, continues to excel thanks to the spectacular choreography and the technique of flag-wavers. Over the years the group has performed throughout Sicily island and was the guest of almost every region of Italy where he has always received wide acclaim and applause, by his popularity has grown to stabilize at the highest levels of national and international, taking part in major events of wide cultural can be mentioned among these holdings to the Euro meeting to ROUBAIX, Tours and Paris, where the flag-wavers of "Casa Normanna" have shown their strong abilities in the game of the flag, then again in the late '80's, the group has often been a guest at the most beautiful carnival in Europe, always in Nice in France
Group Sbandieratori for 3 years (1982-1983-1985) was awarded the prize "ETNA workers", in 1987 the POLIFEMO SILVER and for two consecutive years was named to represent the South's in National Day of the Italian Police in Rome.
Since 1986 he joined the Italian Federation of flag-wavers, ever since he participated in the Italian Championships and finished as the 1st Team of the South and at the forefront nationally. In 1997 in Reggio Emilia on the occasion of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the Tricolor, Palermo and Catania in accassione of the Universiade.
In 1998 in Palermo for the greeting of the Sicilian Region Operation Sicilian Vespers in the presence of the highest offices of State, the international folklore festival in Marsala and Catanzaro prestigious event for the historic "admirable."
